Well what can I say. All my life I have been around one particular muscle car that we are all quite familiar with. A 1965 Pontiac GTO. So I guess it is kind of in my blood. I have always liked the tune of a Mustang. I could close my eyes and hear one coming and know it was a 5.0. 9 years ago I just so happen to go uptown where a bunch of my friends hang out on the weekend with there cars and tell stories. Something caught my eye. A 1987 silver
Mustang. Wow I said, I got to go for a ride in that. So I asked the previous owner to take me for a ride. Needless to say the motor has had some work done to it and we put it sideways on the boulevard. Very nice. Wanted to buy it then but he wouldn’t part with it. I went home that night wondering if I would ever get to go for a ride in that pony again. Every summer, up until 2011, I would ask multiple times,”Are you going to bring the Mustang out?” He flipped a coin with heads on both sides. “Heads it stays in the garage, tails I’ll bring it out.” It always came up heads and I never saw the car again. Last year in June, he came up to me one day and said,”Are you still interested in the Mustang?” I said yes and why? I’m selling it. Couldn’t get to the
bank quick enough. I told him that I would like to come see the car because I haven’t seen it in 8 years. He said come on over tomorrow after work. As I was pulling into the driveway he was pulling a blanket off the car. My jaw dropped. It looked the same as I remembered, but 400 miles more on the odometer. 8 years, 400 miles, for real? Yes. I brought the car home 2 weeks later and put 1600 miles on the car last summer. It is truly awesome. It has the most distinct sound I have ever heard out of a Mustang and everyone that knows or has heard the car, truly agrees. The motor is punched out to a .306 and putting out somewhere between 350-390
hp. If I am cruisin with the family I get almost 22 mpg, if my foot gets a little heavy when I am alone, 8-9 mpg. I truly don’t know a lot of the details on the car. I bought it like this. Judge the car, enjoy the pictures. This year in Sept I am going to an event in Watgins Glenn called the Tour de Marque. I plan on videoing my rides on both the race track and post them. Here is a link to the event www.grandprixfestival.com/marque.html Oh lol, could believe that my father who is an all out Pontiac likes this little pony of mine. Thank you and I hope you enjoyed the story.

I also owned an 87 GT convertible. That was about as fun as it gets. Living in the South and dropping the top even in the dead of winter!! If it wasn’t raining or below freezing chances are the top was down.
